AuthorOnAir.com — Privacy Policy
How we handle your data.
Last updated: 10 July 2026.
1. What we collect
- Account info: the email address and name you register with.
- Books you upload: the manuscripts you submit so the AI host can read and interview you about them.
- Recordings: the audio you record during your interviews, plus any transcripts and edits we produce from it.
- Usage data: standard server logs, page views, and a small set of analytics events used to improve the Service.
- Billing data: handled by Stripe; we never see or store full card numbers.
2. How we use it
We use your account info to manage your access; your manuscripts and recordings to produce your podcast episodes; and your usage data to operate, debug, and improve the Service. We do not sell your data, and we do not train third-party AI models on your manuscripts or recordings.
3. Who we share it with
- Our AI providers: Google Gemini for the live voice interview, Anthropic for book themes and written assets, and OpenAI for transcription and generated artwork. They receive only the data needed for the requested production step and provide commercial API data protections.
- Our podcast distribution partners. Spotify currently receives approved published episodes from the shared AuthorOnAir feed; Apple Podcasts and Amazon Music are not yet active. Distribution partners never receive your raw recording or manuscript.
- Stripe, for billing.
- Law enforcement, only when we are legally required.
4. Cookies
We use an essential session cookie to keep you logged in. Google measurement and Meta advertising scripts load only after you choose “Allow analytics” in the cookie banner. Choosing “Essential only” leaves those scripts disabled.
5. Data retention
We keep your account, manuscripts, and recordings for as long as your account is active. If you delete a published interview, we remove that interview from the shared AuthorOnAir feed; podcast directories update from the feed on their own schedules. If you delete your account, we delete your data within thirty days, except for billing records we are legally required to retain.
6. Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time from your dashboard or by contacting us. If you live in the EU, UK, California, or anywhere else with formal privacy rights, we honour those rights regardless of where we operate from.
